Casey Huizenga

Here's an edit by JakeBreed from late summer 09' www.hellofriendsproductions.blogspot.com

Casey Huizenga from Jake Breed on Vimeo.

Aside from skating basement boxes, or heading to Traverse City to ride their new indoor park mainly consisting of tranny, my friends and i have been getting out to Nub's and Boyne as much as possible to ride just as hard. Fortunately for us, this weather is seeming to make a turn for dryness so that we are once again able to shred all around michigan and make new edits for your viewing pleasure.

The O-Park is so hot right now!

The O Park (located at the Otsego Club in Gaylord, Michigan) is a fairly new and unknown snowboarders paradise located not to far from anywhere in Northern Michigan (it's literally in the center).
One local snowboarder put it best when he said, "The O Park is Michigan's best kept secret!" We totally agree. But there's only one problem...we're the super sleuths of snowboarding and the secrets out!
Now that they have finished building the tightest all-mountain terrain park in all of Michigan, they are ready to open the flood gates and let everyone (and we mean "everyone", including people that currently or may soon get PAID TO RIDE - aka Pros) experience these awesome parks for themselves. No other resort has the kind of rails, jibs, jumps, and terrain than the O-Park has, and that's a FACT! For example, did you know that the O Park is the only resort east of the Rockies to have a 22' Monster Pipe?? Yep, It's true. We measured it....the tape measure wasn't quite long enough (we brought the small one)...but it is definitely 22 looming feet tall. And obviously that's why pros from all over the world are coming to ride the totally epic O Park. But don't be intimidated if you are not yet a wizard in the pipe (Christian), because while they do have one of the biggest halfpipes in the country, they also have over 50 rail features and jumps that are great for riders of any skill level. And here's the kicker: because the O-Park is located in a members club and not open to any 'ol Joe that wants to come in, their parks don't get beat up and abused from millions of kids riding on it! It's actually the exact opposite: Awesome snow and no lift lines or waiting to hit your favorite jib or jump... and no getting embarrassed by crowds of kids that saw you catch an edge on that backside-boardslide! You just have to ride midweek, but that's not so bad.
This park is so sick, olympic snowboarding teams from around the globe are coming to Northern Michigan to train for the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympics. By the end of this week, the teams from Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Germany will all be there, with Italy and Switzerland coming next week. Woah! After the Olympics, beginning March 1, Team United States will make a stop at the Otsego Club's O-Park in preparation for the U.S. Open of Snowboarding. Yes, this is all real.......
(Below is Michigan's own Pat Markiewicz boosting out of the pipe)

So come see what one of the midwest' best kept snowboarding secrets has to offer - we're betting you will love it, especially this week when you can watch some of the top riders in the world, like Kazuhiro Kakubo from Japan flying 12 feet above the 22 foot high pipe and cracking a barrel roll backflip. Are we kidding?!?!?! NO WE ARE NOT.
